About the project

  • The piece: Twelve movements, each by a different female composer corresponding to a month of the year. Usable as studio etudes or concert etudes.
  • Instrumentation: Solo oboe or English horn; oboe duos; oboe + English horn duos.
  • Length: 16–22 minutes.
  • Difficulty: Collegiate and professional players.
  • Premiere: Kristin Leitterman will perform the premiere in Winter 2027. Consortium members hold exclusive performance rights until December 31, 2027.
  • Delivery includes: Digital score, acknowledgement in the score, and social media shout-outs — delivered by January 1, 2027.
